A Local Brewery
Traditional beer for modern tastes since 2010.
8 Sail Brewery is a local brewery for local people, with our close-knit community at the heart of everything we do. We have gone to great lengths to restore the building sympathetically and to furnish it in keeping with our heritage site location.
Located in the shadows of the unique eight-sailed windmill in the rural village of Heckington, near Sleaford, our small, independent brewery was established in 2010, when founder, Tony Pygott saw the potential in the derelict site as a home for a micro-brewery. From challenging beginnings, Tony’s vision has been rewarded with a multi-award-winning brewery and a thriving community hub.
Craft brewed in the heart of Lincolnshire, our range of cask and bottle-conditioned ales includes all styles from dark milds, pale, hoppy ales and IPAs to porters, lagers and seasonal specials.
The Team Behind the Beer
8 Sail Brewery was founded by ex-teacher and beer and local history lover Tony Pygott in 2010.
In 2019, he was joined by Head Brewer Paddy, whose love of the job and the area resulted in him relocating his family from Holland. Tony, Paddy and Assistant Brewer, Callum brew over 3,600 litres of beer a week that is enjoyed in the brewery tap and delivered all over Lincolnshire by Delivery Driver, Roger.
The team is completed with Cellar Manager, Ian plus Bar Staff Michaela and Molly who run the busy brewery tap bar. Steve Adams joined the team as Sales and Operations Director in 2022.
